Chandigarh:Two persons have been arrested for drinking in public and creating a nuisance near the Night Food tsreet, Sector 14. The police said Manpreet Singh and Jitender Singh, both residents of Sirsa, were apprehended and later released on bail. A case has been registered. TNS
Pedestrian hurt in road accident
Chandigarh: A pedestrian was injured after being hit by a speeding motorcycle. Harwinder Singh reported that a pedestrian, Gurdev Singh, a resident of Sector 40, was hit by a motorcycle near the bus stop in Sector 28. He was admitted to the PGI. The police have registered a case against Sagar at the Sector 26 police station. He was arrested and later released on bail. TNS
One arrested with pistol
Zirakpur: The police arrested a Preet Colony resident, Bobby, and recovered an unlicensed weapon and two magazines from his possession. A case has been registered at the Zirakpur police station. TNS

Rupnagar: Social activist Kulwant Singh was installed as the 46th president of Rotary Club here on Sunday. The installation function of the president and his team for the Rotary Year 2024–25 was organised wherein ex-Speaker of Punjab Vidhan Sabha Rana KP Singh was the chief guest. Ravi Parkash, the district governor elect of the Rotary District 3080, was the guest of honour.
