Two arrested for kidnapping man for Rs 50 lakh ransom in Panchkula

The Pinjore police have nabbed two persons for allegedly kidnapping a resident of Naraingarh and demanding a ransom of Rs 50 lakh for his release.
Those arrested are Gurjit Singh, a resident of New Baroli village in Naraingarh, Ambala, and Raj Kumar, a native of Billawali village in Solan who was residing at Bhagwanpur village near Pinjore.
The police said the victim, Sanjeev Kumar, a resident of Krishna Colony in Naraingarh, had lodged a complaint that he was going to Solan on June 11 in his Alto car along with his friend Gurjit Saini. He said on the way, two persons signalled him to stop the car. He said his friend Gurjit Singh also asked him to stop the car and the two persons sat on the rear seat of the car. He said after some time, one of the persons took out a knife and threatened him to hand over whatever cash he had.
He said his friend Gurjit Saini also joined them and they together took away Rs 500 from his pocket. He said the suspects also asked him to make a call to his father to bring Rs 50 lakh as ransom failing which they would kill him.
He said after this, he went to an ATM, but could not withdraw money. He then went to a nearby petrol station to swipe his ATM card. There he narrated the entire story to the petrol station staff, who raised the alarm. Meanwhile, the suspects fled from there.
A case was registered.
