Two arrested for vandalising cars in Maloya colony

The incident took place in the early hours of June 18 at EWS Colony

Two youths have been arrested for vandalising several vehicles and CCTV cameras at EWS Colony in Maloya recently. They have been identified as Parminder, alias Sanda; and Ramit Kumar, both aged 20.

The incident took place in the early hours of June 18 at EWS Colony near the Jhampur barrier. A group of youths vandalised several vehicles, damaged CCTV cameras and stole cash along with documents from a car. The incident followed an altercation involving a local resident, Rinku Potli.

On a complaint filed by Rinku, the police had registered an FIR on June 20.

The police produced both accused in the court today. The Judge sent then to one-day police remand for further investigation.

Meanwhile, the police arrested Mohit, alias Ganja, aged 18, in connection with a case registered on June 14. The complainant had alleged that Mohit threatened him with a pistol outside his residence in DMC Colony on the night of June 13. Mohit was arrested yesterday and a country-made pistol was recovered from him. He was presented before the Duty Magistrate and remanded in one-day police custody.

Man held with ganja

The police arrested Dharma, aged 20, with 500 grams of ganja near RC-1 School in Maloya yesterday. He was produced before the court and remanded in police custody.

Dharampal, alias Palla, aged 48, was arrested near the community centre park in DMC, Sector 38-W. He was found selling 48 quarters of illicit country-made liquor. A case was registered against him.
