Two days on, Sec 50 areas go without water

There has been no water supply to several housing societies here for the past two days. Residents are having a tough time without water.

Avtar Singh, a resident of a society in Sector 50, said: “Yesterday and today, there is no water supply at all. We raised the issue with the area councillor. The councillor talked of arranging water tankers. But, our point is why was there no information regarding a cut in the water supply. Residents did not store water as they had no idea.”

“It is still not clear when the supply will be restored. We request the municipal corporation to restore the water supply soon,” added another resident.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
