Two deaths in Sohana in a week, locals flag diarrhoea symptoms
Two persons have died in the Chakki Wala locality of Sohana village allegedly after consuming contaminated water being supplied in the area in the past one week.
Area councillor Harjeet Singh Bholu claimed that more than a dozen residents of the area, including his wife and son, are suffering from diarrhoea-like symptoms for the past one week.
Meanwhile, local residents too have complained about receiving dirty water supply as well as systems likes upset stomach and loose motions.
The first victim, who has been identified as Suresh Kumar, succumbed five days ago, while the latest victim was identified as Harnek Singh, the area councillor said.
Residents have urged the administration officials to send a Health Department teams to assess the situation at the earliest.
Mohali Health Department officials said water samples were taken from the locality a week ago but the results are yet to come.
