The CBI court has sent Manimajra station fire officer Dassehru Singh and leading fireman Kamleshwar to judicial custody. The two employees of the Municipal Corporation’s Fire Department were arrested on Thursday for allegedly accepting Rs 80,000 bribe for issuing a fire no-objection certificate (NOC).

As per the CBI, the agency received a complaint that the accused officers were demanding bribe to expedite the issuance of the NOC required under fire safety regulations. The applicant who was not willing to pay the bribe filed a complaint with the CBI. After a preliminary inquiry, the CBI laid a trap and arrested the accused.
