Chandigarh, April 18
A local court has denied anticipatory bail to two persons booked for registering vehicles allegedly on the basis of forged documents.
As per an FIR registered last year, five vehicles were registered in the name of HILTI India Pvt Ltd, Industrial Area, Phase 2, Chandigarh, on October 25, 2018, while the company had already vacated the premises in April 2018. A board resolution was found attached with the applications for RCs of these vehicles.
The police alleged that the resolution had fake rubber stamps.
The counsel for the accused claimed that the applicants, Rajesh Yadav and Chandrish Sehgal, had been falsely implicated in the case. The applicants were not the beneficiaries and nothing was to be recovered from them.
On the other hand, the Additional Public Prosecutor opposed the anticipatory bail applications. He said the accused had presented a fake resolution. The bogus stamps, letter pad, etc, were to be recovered for which their custodial interrogation would be required.
After hearing of the arguments, the court dismissed their anticipatory bail applications. —
