Two groups clash, gunshots fired; 1 held, 6 booked

The police have arrested one person and booked six others in a clash between two groups in which several gunshots were fired at Samgauli village of Dera Bassi on Thursday night around 11pm. Cops said two groups comprising Satish Kumar and Rakesh Kumar, both Samgauli residents, were clashing over an old dispute when Satish called some people and fired at the other party.

The police reached the spot and seized the empty shells of the bullets. On the complaint of one Ashok Kumar, a case has been registered against Satish Kumar, Maninder Singh, Sanjeev Kumar and three others. Maninder has been arrested. The police are probing who open opened fire and whether the weapon was licensed or not.
