The department had invited bids for the allotment of 10 leftover liquor vends. Even after 12th round of auction, eight vends remained unsold. The department had failed to allot even a single vends in the previous two rounds held on June 2 and 6.

On May 29, two of the 11 vends put up for auction had found takers. However, the allottee of a liquor vend in Sector 22 had surrendered the licence to the department.

During the eighth round of auction held on May 26, the department was able to sell only one liquor vend out of 11 and earned a revenue of Rs 3.51 crore. One of the allottees withdrew later.
