Two lives were snuffed out in road accidents in the city. A man died after being hit by a bike and a motorcyclist was killed in a hit-and-run accident allegedly involving a CTU bus.

Naga Muthu (18) reported that he, along with his father Sankar (54), were going somewhere on a scooter. A speeding motorcyclist hit them near the Housing Board Colony, Dhanas. He and his father were rushed to the Government Multi-Speciality Hospital (GMSH) in Sector 16, where the doctors declared Sankar dead on arrival.

The police have registered a case against Vishal Sharma, a resident of Sector 40, at the Sarangpur police station. He was arrested and later released on bail.

Gurminder Singh alleged that a CTU bus sped away after hitting Jaskaran of Khuda Alisher village on the Sector 27/30 road. He was rushed to the Government Medical College and Hospital, Sector 32. The doctors declared him dead on arrival. A case has been registered at the Sector 26 police station and an investigation initiated.
