Two new Covid cases surface in Fatehgarh Sahib

Fatehgarh Sahib, June 17

A woman schoolteacher, belonging to Saheedgarh village in the Bassi Pathana sub-division, and a 20-year-old expectant mother from Mandi Gobindgarh have tested positive for Covid-19, taking the district tally to 81.

Civil Surgeon Dr NK Aggarwal said a 20-year-old expectant mother, a resident of Shanti Nagar of Mandi Gobindgarh, was tested positive. He said she had come from Panipat on June 13 and her samples were collected for testing. He said both patients were admitted to Gian Sagar Hospital, Banur.

He said 6,922 samples had been collected so far, of which 81 tested positive and the results of 270 were awaited.

The Civil Surgeon said 72 had been cured and there were only nine active cases in the district now.

Yesterday, a 20-year-old girl of Adarsh Nagar in Mandi Gobindgarh was tested positive and her brother runs a reputed salon.

Similarly, a resident of Amloh town, who had gone to Tamil Nadu with two friends for work and stayed in Delhi on his way back, was also tested positive for Covid.
