Two suspects have been arrested for several incidents of snatching and vehicle theft in the city. The police have recovered eight stolen mobile phones and five scooters from them.

On February 22, Seema Rani of Sector 37 had reported that two scooter-borne miscreants snatched her phone while she was going to the market near her house. A case was registered at the Sector 39 police station.

During the investigation, a team of the District Crime Cell (DCC) nabbed Rahul, alias Akash (25), a fruit vendor, and Amrit (27), both residents of Dhanas.

The police said Seema’s phone was recovered from them. Their interrogation led to the recovery of more mobile phones and scooters stolen from the city.

Rahul already has a case of robbery registered against him in 2019, while Amrit faces four cases in Chandigarh.
