Two workshops organised

Department of Psychology organised two workshops. Dr Roshan Lal, Head of the Department of Psychology, introduced the speakers. Prof Kulwinder Singh, Punjabi University, Patiala, spoke on “Data analysis: the interpretation”. Another workshop was conducted by Gurjot Singh Kaler, an alumnus of the Department of Psychology. The workshops enriched the students in terms of their analytical skills for data interpretation for project work, research paper writing and others.

Prize Distribution function

Department of Youth Welfare organised its annual prize distribution function at Mahatma Hansraj Hall. Prof Renu Vig, Vice-Chancellor, was the chief guest. Students who brought laurels to the university by winning prizes in various youth festivals were facilitated. The staff editors of the annual magazine, “Jawan Tarang”, were also felicitated by Professor Vig.

Annual Convocation

Students of the University School of Open Learning (USOL) received their degrees at the 7th annual convocation. It was also the 47th annual prize distribution function, wherein meritorious distance learners were given. As many as 100 undergraduate and postgraduate students from languages, social sciences, commerce and management streams received their degrees.

Awareness programme

Sri Guru Gobind Singh College, Sector 26, organised an awareness programme on substance abuse in collaboration with the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, under the flagship programme, Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan. The programme was aimed at educating students about the ill-effects of substance abuse.

223 units of blood donated

The National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of Punjab Engineering College (Deemed to be University), in collaboration with the PGI, organised its biannual blood donation camp. A total of 223 units of blood was collected. The camp witnessed active participation from students, faculty and staff of PEC.
