Two youths nabbed for robberies in Chandigarh
Chandigarh, February 16
Two youths have been arrested by the Crime Branch of the UT police for a few robbery incidents reported in the city.
The police said the accused had recently targeted two persons and robbed them at knifepoint.
Ram Naresh, a resident of Kajheri village, had complained that while he was on the way to his workplace during the wee hours of January 30, two motorcycle-borne persons made him stop on the Sector 43/44 road and robbed him of his mobile phone, cash and jewellery.
The other complaint was received from Sarvan Kumar Yadav, a resident of Maloya. Yadav said he was robbed of his mobile phone near the Sector 33/34/44/45 roundabout on February 1.
Cases regarding both incidents were registered at the Sector 34 police station.
During investigation, the two accused, identified as Sunny (20) and Rajat, alias Chundi (20), both residents of Sector 56, were nabbed at Sarangpur. The police have recovered the stolen articles and the motorcycle used in the crime from the accused.
