Karandeep, Ajeetesh share 8th spot, Harendra slips to tied-13th place Tribune News Service

Chandigarh’s Karandeep Kochhar shot a 2-under 70 in the third round to jump four places to tied 8th even as Harendra Gupta dropped 11 places to tied 13th on the third day of the Delhi-NCR Open Golf Championship 2021 in Gurugram today.

Another Chandigarh golfer, Ajeetesh Sandhu (66-72-72) slipped four places to share the 8th spot with Kochhar and three others at 6-under 210.

Gupta (66-70), who was tied 2nd at the half-way stage, carded a 75 today to go down to tied 13th and six shots off the leader Udayan Mane, who shot birdies three successive birdies towards the end to close Day 3 at 11-under 205.

Mane struck a second consecutive 67, the day’s lowest card, to move up three spots from his overnight tied-4th position at the Rs 30-lakh event.

Noida’s Gaurav Pratap Singh also continued his steady progress up the leaderboard with a second straight 68. He gained two spots in Round 3 to be placed 2nd at 10-under 206.

Patna’s Aman Raj (72-66-69) moved up one place to 3rd position at 9-under 207 after shooting a 69 that featured an eagle, two birdies and a bogey.

Round 2 leader Chikkarangappa dropped to tied 4th at 8-under 208 after his round of 73.

Delhi’s Manav Jaini carded a 69 to join Chikka in tied-4th place.

Bengaluru’s Khalin Joshi (71) and Gurugram’s Tapy Ghai (73) were in tied-6th place at 7-under 209.

Kolkata’s Rahil Gangjee (68) was tied 13th at 5-under 211 while Delhi’s Rashid Khan (71), the highest-ranked Indian in the world, was tied 17th at 4-under 212.
