Under-construction building sealed in Lohgarh over violations

An under-construction building in Lohgarh area of Zirakpur was sealed after violations of a notice issued by the Zirakpur Municipal Council (MC) were found at the location.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Komal Mittal got the under-construction building sealed for continuing illegal construction in violation of notice within the limits of Zirakpur Municipal Council.

Sharing further details, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC, Urban Development) Anmol Singh Dhaliwal said after receiving a complaint regarding illegal construction on Lohgarh Road, Executive Officer Ashok Kumar Patharia had issued a notice to owner Harmeet Sharma under Sections 195, 195-A of the Punjab Municipality Act, 1911.

He said even after the notice was issued, a complaint was received that the person did not submit any documents related to the construction and continued with the construction. A strict cognizance of the matter was taken and ordered to seal it immediately and today the under-construction building was sealed.

“If the construction continues despite sealing action, further legal action will be taken against the person concerned,” an administration official said.

Officials said no one can be allowed to do illegal construction in the district and construction can be done only after the initial building map is approved. He appealed to the people of the district that before doing any construction work, they must get the construction map approved from the competent authority.
