Unidentified persons have been booked for assaulting a Mohali resident and his friend here.

Complainant Pankaj Kumar, a resident of Sector 70, claimed he along with friend Saurabh Sharma had gone to Sector 22, Chandigarh, on the intervening night of July 3 and 4.

While returning, the suspects riding two bikes intercepted their car and pelted it with stones.

They thrashed the two before fleeing. A case under relevant sections was registered at the Sector 17 police station on Thursday.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
