UP native arrested for stealing valuables from car

The police have arrested a man for stealing valuables worth lakhs from a woman’s car on September 9. According to DCP Srishti Gupta, complainant Surbhi Jain, a resident of Sector 6, Panchkula, in her police complaint, said she had parked her car near Pashupati Shiv Temple on the day of incident. Surbhi, who works as a manager at IT Park, Sector 22, said on returning she found her Apple MacBook Pro laptop valued around Rs 2.5 lakh, important documents, a purse and other belongings stolen.

Acting on technical inputs and secret information, the police arrested the accused on September 10. He was identified as Suraj (28), son of Ramkumar, a native of Moradabad district, Uttar Pradesh, currently residing on rent in Manav Colony, Saketri.

The accused was produced in a court, which remanded him to one-day police custody. On the basis of disclosures made by him, laptop, ATM cards, voter card, purse and other vital documents were recovered from bushes near railway track towards Kalka. The accused was sent to judicial custody.
