The police have booked a man for pushing his 16-year-old sister-in-law from the balcony of a house in Dhanas.

According to the police, the victim’s mother, a resident of EWS Colony, Dhanas, reported that her son-in-law, Jagannath, a native of Uttar Pradesh (UP), pushed her daughter from the balcony of the house on June 11.

The minor girl, who suffered injuries, was admitted to the Government Multi-Specialty Hospital, Sector 16.

Later, Jagannath left for UP following which the victim’s mother lodged a police complaint. The police said the victim suffered injuries. However, her condition was stated to be stable.

The police said the suspect would be arrested soon.

Sources, however, claimed that the police contacted the suspect, who stated that the girl had fallen accidentally from the balcony.

A case under Section 325 of the IPC has been registered against the suspect at the Sarangpur police station. — TNS
