Chandigarh Admn’s 100-day action plan for completion of works

For the time-bound completion of projects, UT Adviser Dharam Pal has directed all departments to prepare a 100-day action plan.
‘ROADS A PRIORITY’
- The Adviser said there was need for improving the condition of roads in the city. He said recarpeting and maintenance work of roads would be taken up on priority after the monsoon.
- He said they would study the feasibility of running the Metro or monorail in the city.
Dharam Pal, who joined the UT Administration a fortnight ago, said he was working on a systematic plan where development works would be completed in 100 days.
The Adviser said he had directed the departments to prepare a list of projects which could be completed in a time-bound manner in 100 days after consultation with engineers.
On the possibility of a third wave of the coronavirus, the Adviser said he had directed the Health Department to accelerate vaccination in order to cover the maximum population as soon as possible.
The Adviser said there was need for improving the condition of roads in the city. He said recarpeting and maintenance work of roads would be taken up on priority after the monsoon.
The other focus area would be the public transport. He said they would study the feasibility of running the Metro or monorail in the city. Keeping in view the future requirement, they needed to prepare a strategy to deal with the growing traffic in the city, he said.
