UT Adviser post goes, it’s Chief Secy now

The Ministry of Home Affairs has created the post of Chief Secretary in Chandigarh and abolished that of Adviser to the UT Administrator. So far, the post of Adviser has been filled from the AGMUT cadre of IAS officers. The post is held by Rajeev Verma at present.

According to the MHA notification, the strength of IAS officers in Chandigarh has been increased from nine to 11. Now, the UT will have separate post of Secretary Urban Planning/Smart City and Commissioner Excise.
