UT brings 32 more services under RTS Act

The UT Administration has brought 32 more services provided by different departments under the Right to Service (RTS) Act.

Nearly 441 public services of 31 departments had already been notified under the Act so far. The services notified today are provided by various departments, including Arms Branch, SDM offices, office of Tehsildar (Revenue), Miscellaneous Branch, Health and Family Welfare Office, General Hospital, Sector 16, Registering and Licensing Authority, Property Tax Branch, Police Department, Offices of Director of Higher Education and Director of School Education, Chandigarh Pollution Control Committee and Registrar of Cooperative Societies.

Ajay Jagga, member, Administrator’s Advisory Council, said, “It will ensure that the citizens of Chandigarh are able to access government services within a fixed time frame, thereby reducing delays, minimising red tape and improving transparency.”
