Chandigarh education officer tests positive for Covid-19

District Education Officer Harbir Singh Anand has tested positive for the novel coronavirus. He is the second person from the District Education Office to contract the infection in last four days.

Earlier, a District Education Office employee had been infected by the virus.

Chandigarh had reported the highest single-day spike of 276 cases on Thursday, taking the tally to 5,065.

Also, the death toll in the UT reached 63 with four more deaths.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
