To commemorate a decade of the ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ initiative, a solemn oath-taking ceremony was held today at the UT Secretariat. Chief Secretary Rajiv Verma administered pledge to all to uphold the rights of the girl child, promote gender equality and ensure access to education for every girl.

The ceremony witnessed the participation of senior officers and employees of the Secretariat, reflecting their shared commitment to this mission.

In addition to this central event, the oath was taken simultaneously across all departments, colleges, schools and institutions in Chandigarh, symbolising collective determination to work towards empowering girls and fostering an inclusive society.

Verma emphasised the importance of collective efforts in creating a society that upholds the rights and dignity of girls. He called upon all stakeholders to continue working towards the goals of the ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ initiative with renewed dedication and enthusiasm.
