A fine bowling attack by Hyderabad pacer Ravi Teja (6/41) wrecked Chandigarh’s batting line-up. Chasing 400 runs for an outright win, Chandigarh’s second innings folded for just 183 runs. In reply to Hyderabad’s first innings total of 347, Chandigarh managed to score 216 runs. After getting a 131-run lead, Hyderabad declared their second innings for 269/8 to set a herculean target of 400 runs for Chandigarh.

Chandigarh, after resuming from overnight score of 21/2, lost their first wicket of the day as Gaurav Gambhir (7) was claimed by CTL Rakshann. Thereafter, Arslan Khan and captain Manan Vohra added 71 runs for the fourth wicket. However, Manan (22), who scored a century in the first innings, fell prey to Rakshann at the team’s total of 96 runs. Khan followed the suit as Tanay Thyagarajan bowled him for 68 off 90 balls. Teja, thereafter, swung into action and claimed Arjit Singh (4) Ankit Kaushik (32), Gurinder Singh (0) and Jagjit Singh Sandhu (0). Raj Angad Bawa (35 off 47 balls) remained unbeaten, while Sandeep Sharma (0) was the last man out for Chandigarh innings.
