Chandigarh, June 21
Directorate of Sports, Panjab University, organised an online mass demonstration of Common Yoga Protocol (CYP) to commemorate International Day of Yoga. Prof Raj Kumar, Vice Chancellor, motivated people to accept yoga as a way of life and also described the importance of yoga in the current pandemic situation to improve their immunity. More than 2,500 people enrolled for the 21-day free yoga camp.

Desh Bhagat University organised an online webinar and events “Yoga for Wellness” and “Be With Yoga, Be at Home”. The students and faculty members actively participated in the virtual sessions conducted by yoga experts.
Chitkara University
More than 500 students and faculty members of Chitkara University celebrated the day through the online and offline modes, to highlight the importance of fitness. Dr Madhu Chitkara, Pro-Chancellor, Chitkara University, congratulated the participants for conducting a successful event while maintaining social distancing.
CGC, Jhanjeri
A virtual sports event was organised by the Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Jhanjeri. Various athletics events, including yoga asanas, jumping jacks, squats, skipping, push-ups, high knees and single-leg stand, were conducted. The winners were also awarded.
Shri Dhanwantry Ayurvedic College
Shri Dhanwantry Ayurvedic College and Hospital, Sector 46, started a seven-day yoga camp. During the virtual session, the guest of honour, BCCI treasurer Arun Dhumal, addressed the audience and highlighted the benefits and need for yoga for a disease and stress-free life.

In view of Covid 19, the day was celebrated through an online session on the theme, “Yoga at Home” and “Yoga with family”, at Post Graduate Government College, Sector 46. The staff and students performed ‘pranayam’.
GCYEH-23
Government College of Yoga Education and Health, in collaboration with the Directorate of AYUSH and the UT Administration, organised a series of activities over the month to mark Yoga Day. The common yoga protocol was practised to spread the message of peace and harmony.

The NSS units of Government College of Commerce and Business Administration, Sector 50, prepared short videos of various asanas and members of the core team uploaded the selected videos on the college website. Many participants had sent their videos.
MCM DAV-36
Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women celebrated the day virtually. In sync with the campaign titled “Be With Yoga, Be At Home” launched by the Ministry of Ayush, the college celebrated the day with online activities organised by NSS units, NCC, Psycho Social Support Cell, Charitra Nirman Committee and Physical Education Department.

The Olympic Movement Society of the Post Graduate Government College for Girls, Sector 42, organised “Yoga for well-being”. A pledge was taken by the participants to make yoga an integral part of daily life.
