Vedant claims chess title

Chandigarh, January 21

Vedant Garg scored six points to win the open category event during the concluding day of the 11th Chandigarh Chess Academy Open and Children Prize Money Festival. Rohit Roy Chaudhary claimed second position with five points, while Ayan Garg finished third with five points (18 tie-break).

Vivaan Mittal claimed the open U-13 title by scoring six points. Sameer Singh Shergill scored five points to claim second position, and Soham Rakshit finished at third with five points (17 tie-break).

Tavish Bansal scored 5.5 points to win the U-9 category. She was closely followed by Prabhav Atwal, who scored five points, and Bhan Singh with 4.4 points. Kasmya Kumari was the best woman in the open category and Jeenat was best girl in U-13 category, Radhya in U-9 and Jiaana Garg in U-7 category.
