Dr Dhawan had filed the complaint against NRI woman Gertrude D’Souza, her husband Bryan D’Souza, the then special director of the CBI Rakesh Asthana, the then UT DGP TS Luthra and some others cops of the Chandigarh Police before the CBI Director, New Delhi, in February 2019.
The complaint was recently forwarded to the Chief Vigilance Officer, Chandigarh.
“I have been informed by the UT Vigilance Department that they have received my complaint. I will soon visit the Vigilance Department to further pursue my complaint,” Dr Dhawan said.
The NRI woman, in her complaint to the UT police, had alleged that she was cheated of Rs 7 lakh on the pretext of a dental tourism package as she was not satisfied with the services, following which a case was registered against Dr Dhawan at the Sector 19 police station in March 2018.
Dr Dhawan, who has a clinic in Sector 21, had complained that he was falsely implicated in the case on the behest of the CBI officer and the former UT DGP.
Dhawan has already filed a complaint against two cops, the then SHO of the Sector 19 police station Inspector Ashwani Attri and investigating officer SI Balwinder Singh, in the Police Complaint Authority (PCA). The complaint is pending with the PCA.
Dr Dhawan has claimed that even before the woman had submitted a written complaint, he was being summoned for questioning. “The police received the first complaint on January 29, 2018. However, I was summoned by the police in November 2017 and in the first week of January 2018,” he said.
