Vijay Pal made president in AAP city unit overhaul

After more than a year, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has overhauled the city unit and appointed Vijay Pal, former DSP of UT, its president and Omkar Sunny Aulakh general secretary. A total of 76 office-bearers have been appointed.
Irked at the restructuring, two party councillors, Jasbir Singh Laddi (vice-president) and Poonam (vice-president of SC Cell), along with other leaders, including former state general secretary Ramesh Kumar Taank and Poorvachal general secretary Virender Singh Veeru, tendered their resignations from their respective party posts.
Also, the party has ignored many founder members such as Vikram Singh Pundhir, former party convener Prem Garg, incumbent Mayor Kuldeep Kumar and senior leader Chandermukhi Sharma, who were instrumental in a steady rise of the party in the city.
The new appointments have been made by Rajya Sabha Member and AAP national organisation secretary Dr Sandeep Pathak, city AAP in-charge and MLA from Delhi Jarnail Singh, and city AAP co-in-charge Dr SS Ahluwalia, who is Chairman of Punjab Water Supply and Sewerage Board.
Dr Ahluwalia congratulated Vijay Pal and other office-bearers. Dr Ahluwalia also appealed to all office-bearers to make more efforts for the welfare of residents of the city. He said AAP was an honest party, which was working day and night for the welfare of the public. Councillors Hardeep Singh, Damanpreet Singh Badal, Jasvir Singh Laddi, AAP leader Abha Bansal and Naresh Bobby Garg have been appointed vice-presidents. AAP leaders Sukhraj Sandhu, Harjinder Bawa, Meena Sharma, Kaushal Singh and Ravi Mani have been given the responsibility as secretaries. Besides, Mandeep Kalra, Simranjit Singh Simmi, Sunil Sehra, Sunny Bairwa, Balwinder Singh Bains, Shishupal, Sarabjit Kaur Simmi, Rajesh Chaudhary, Kanta Dhamija, Harkesh Lucky Rana, Narinder Kumar Bhatia, Sudesh Khurcha and Kuldeep Kuki have been appointed joint secretaries.
Councillor Yogesh Dhingra has been appointed the city unit spokesperson and JJ Singh chairman of the Grievance Committee. While Manmohan Pathak has been made general secretary, JD Ghai has been given the responsibility of treasurer. Lalit Mohan is new event in-charge, Satnam Singh event co-incharge, Dharmpal Sharma and Harsh Sharma media coordinators.
The other appointments include Sukhdarshan Singh Mann as president of the Auto Union wing, Sahil Makkar head of the CA wing, Sanjeev Chaudhary president of the CYSS; Devinder, Shubham Jha and Vivek as vice-presidents; and Kanwalpreet Singh Judge as general secretary.
PP Ghai has been appointed president of the ex-employee wing and Jagmohan Singh its general secretary. Manoj Shukla is president of the intellectual wing, councillor Neha Musavat vice-president and Darmian Singh its joint secretary.
Councillor Ram Chandra Yadav has been appointed Youth Wing president, Jassi Lubhana vice-president, Manpreet Singh Chahal general secretary and Mahavir secretary.
