Outraged over notices sent by the Municipal Corporation regarding property tax, residents of Kumbhra village, Sector 68, here, staged a protest against the Punjab Government and the MC.

Led by social activist Balwinder Singh Kumbhra, the protesters also burnt an effigy of Mayor Amarjit Singh Jiti Sidhu and Commissioner Kamal Kumar Garg.

Addressing the protesters, Kumbhra said no facility was being provided to the villagers. He said the village was in dire need of basic amenities.
