Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath today raked up the matter of Congress candidate Chander Mohan changing his name to Chand Mohammad years ago and said the party had chosen him to loot the people of Panchkula.
He stated that the Congress believed that there shouldn’t be any land for Lord Ram. “It only wants to provide land to Waqf Board. This is the reason why it has issued a ticket to Chand Mohammad (Chander Mohan’s changed name),” he added.
The UP CM was addressing a gathering at Sector 16 where he patted the Centre’s back for establishing Ram temple in Ayodhya.
Yogi Adityanath began his address with the slogan “Bharosa fir se, BJP fir se” (trust and form BJP government again) in support of the party’s Panchkula candidate Gian Chand Gupta and Kalka nominee Shakti Rani Sharma. Gupta claimed that his opponent had not changed his name back to Chander Mohan in documents.
Speaking about Ram temple, the UP CM said it was established by the BJP government after hundreds of years. He said, “The Congress does not even have faith in Lord Ram. They could have never given us Ram temple. They have forgotten Ram. But the Modi government provided a solution to our long-standing issue of Ram temple.”
People from nearby Indira Colony and Rajiv Colony were among the gathering.
