Two agencies have been finalised in the technical evaluation for the bioremediation of 7.67 lakh metric tonne of legacy waste lying at the dumping ground in Dadu Majra. Later this week, financial bids will be opened, after which one of these firms will be awarded the work this month only.

The firm will have 1,048 days to clear the second and remaining part of the waste.

The Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs is partially funding the Rs 77-crore project. At present, five lakh metric tonne of waste is being biomined and the work is expected to be completed by the next year. About 78 per cent of the waste has been removed so far.
