The wheat procurement operation has started at Sector 39 grain market here.

According to the UT Administration, a farmer will be paid Rs1,975 per quintal for his produce.

All arrangements have been made for the procurement of wheat and the stakeholders have been told to follow Covid appropriate behavior. “We are expecting arrival of 2.5 to 3 lakh bags of wheat at the mandi during this procurement season,” said an official.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
