Dr Singh said the visit was conducted under Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann’s directive to develop Mohali into the finest city of the tricity region.

The purpose, he added, was to identify the Municipal Corporation’s challenges and work towards effective solutions.

Since Mohali falls under both the Greater Mohali Area Development Authority (GMADA) and the MC, Dr Singh noted that many problems are intertwined between the two agencies. To address these, a high-level meeting of MC and GMADA officials will soon be convened in Chandigarh for comprehensive discussions and a permanent resolution.

During his interaction with Municipal Corporation Commissioner Parminder Pal Singh, the minister sought detailed information on the MC’s revenue, city sanitation, wet and dry waste management, drinking water supply, property tax collection, building plan revenue and ongoing construction activities in villages newly included within the MC’s jurisdiction.
