According to the police, complainant Vivek Narola, an SDE, and his team were on duty in Sector 37 to ensure implementation of the Covid protocol when they saw a few persons without masks.

The officials stopped them to issue a challan. However, they started misbehaving with the officials and deterred them from discharging their duty. The suspects, identified as Davinder Balhara (42), a resident of Karnal, and Karam Vir Arya (38), a resident of Kaithal, also allegedly spread misleading information among the public, the complainant alleged.

The police were informed following which a case under Sections 186, 188 and 353 of the IPC was registered at the Sector 39 police station. Both suspects were arrested in the case. — TNS
