A 20-year-old woman died while her brother sustained serious injuries when the motorcycle they were riding was knocked down by a canter near Majra Chowk on the Kurali-Mullanpur road here today.

The deceased, Kamalpreet Kaur, was a resident of Khabra village.

The police said she, along with her brother Habib, were going to Chandigarh.

The woman died on the spot. Habib was admitted to a hospital with serious injuries.

The police said they were trying to identify the canter by scrutinising the footage of CCTVs installed near the spot and the toll plaza. — OC
