A Zirapkur resident fell prey to snatchers who targeted her near the Metro point in broad daylight.

The unidentified youth snatched the woman’s purse on main road on around 3.25 pm on July. The victim, who has been identified as Poonam Rani, said an unidentified bike-borne youth snatched her purse in the presence of several passers-by near the Gazipur road.

In her complaint, the woman told that the purse contained Rs 20,000 in cash, a mobile phone, important documents and other valuables.

Her husband Kuldeep Singh said, “It has been three days since the incident. I have been running from pillar to post but the police are not registering the FIR. I have myself collected CCTV footage, traced the vehicle and given all details but the investigation officer has not registered an FIR.”

Despite repeated phone calls, Zirakpur station house officer remained unavailable for comment.
