Three persons have been booked after a woman resident of Panchkula was duped of Rs 4.90 lakh on the pretext of buying equity shares.

Sania Makkan, a resident of Sector 26, said she had created an account on an online website to invest money in share market. She received a call from a person, identified as Molik, who asked her to invest money through an application. Unaware of the scam, the woman started transferring money from her bank account. The woman said she lost a total of Rs 4.90 lakh in the whole process.

A case was registered against the three suspects.— TNS
