The police have booked a mother-son duo from Machhli Kalan — Lalita and Shiv Ram — for abetment of Poonam, the wife of Shiv Ram, who hanged herself to death from a ceiling fan. A case under Section 306 of the IPC has been registered at the Sadar Kharar police station on the basis of a complaint by Vikram Singh. Vikram said two months after marriage Poonam’s in-laws started mentally harassing her for dowry. He added that on February 22, one of the neighbours called around 11 am saying that Poonam had fallen unconscious and later she died.
