As many as 4,000 women from 172 villages in Punjab are learning yoga under Roundglass Foundation’s yoga programme that focuses on enabling the well-being of rural communities with yoga.

Harmanjit Kaur from a village in Majra block says that she used to experience stiffness of joints, adding, “Practising asanas and living a yogic lifestyle has helped me change my life for the better. I feel healthier.”

Under the training programme, as many as 150 rural women trained as yoga instructors and paid a stipend, providing them financial agency. These women are now able to contribute to their family income.
