Chandigarh, July 11
A week-long advanced workshop on ‘Semiconductor device design, fabrication and characterization’ was inaugurated at Semiconductor Research Centre, Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, Punjab Engineering College (PEC), a deemed to be university, here today. The workshop is being held in technical collaboration with the IEEE, Chandigarh subsection, and ISSE, Chandigarh chapter today.
Dharam Pal, Adviser to the Administrator, inaugurated the workshop. Prof Rajeev Ahuja, Director, IIT Ropar, Dr Surinder Singh, Director, SCL, Mohali, and Dr Jatinder K Arora, PSCST, were the guest of honour for the session.
The advanced workshop is fully funded by the Science and Engineering Research Board (Department of Science and Technology), Government of India, under ‘Accelerate Vigyan’ and will take held from July 11 to 17.
Director, PEC, Prof (Dr) Baldev Setia, stated that the Semiconductor Research Centre and the ECE Department was enriched by the inclusion of advanced research and design-oriented equipment and had also been selected in the first cohort of 30 institutions to be supported under chips to startup programme at Digital India week in Gandhinagar.
