A workshop on electrochemical techniques for energy, sensor, and corrosion techniques is being organised by the Centrral Scientific Instruments Organisation (CSIO) here to familiarise young researchers and students with advancement in theoretical and experimental technologies in the field.

Prof RK Sinha, Director, CSIO, said there were various applications of electrochemistry such as coating of objects with specialised material for defence and tactical applications, detection and medical diagnosis, generation of chemical energy, fuel cells, large format lithium-ion batteries, electrochemical reactors and super-capacitors.

Prof Dwarakadasa, CEO, Karnataka Hybrid Microdevices, and former president of Electrochemical Society of India, delivered a talk on nanotechnology in electrochemistry, while a talk on ‘electrochemical systems for energy research and education’ was delivered by Dr Ritesh Vyas, industry representative, Metrohm Autolab.
