PGI Director Prof Vivek Lal today inaugurated an ‘Immediate Trauma Life Support (ITLS) Hands-on Workshop-cum-Continuing Medical Education (CME) programme.

The event, which was organised under the aegis of the Society of Trauma Anaesthesia and Critical Support (STACC), marks a step in advancing trauma care education and practice and aims to enhance the skills and readiness of medical professionals in handling acute trauma cases.

In his inaugural address, Lal emphasised the unpredictable nature of trauma care. He delved into the practical aspects of trauma care, highlighting the critical need for maintaining order amidst the chaos that typically accompanies acute trauma situations.

Prof Kajal Jain, the organising chairperson of the workshop, said, “The ITLS workshop is designed to provide participants with comprehensive training, including hands-on sessions and simulations that mimic real-life trauma scenarios. These sessions aim to equip medical professionals with the skills needed to manage acute trauma cases effectively, ensuring they provide the highest level of care in critical situations.”
