Chandigarh, April 10

Staff and students of Homoeopathic Medical College and Hospital, Sector 26, here today celebrated World Homoeopathy Day on social media.

Dr Sandeep Puri, principal of the college, said: “Our college celebrates this day every year with fervor. This year, we all are restricted to our homes due to Covid-19 pandemic. However, this restriction has not dampened the spirit of faculty and student. We celebrated our master Hahnemann’s 265th birthday on WhatsApp.”

He said three events – poster-making, slogan writing and caption contests – were organised online.

Snehal Dhingra and Kaushal Nanda bagged first position in the poster-making competition while Namita Dhingra second position and Prince stood third.

In the slogan-writing contest, Aanchal bagged the first position, while Tanvi and Arushi stood second and Riva and Varun bagged the third position.

Jahnvi was the winner of the caption contest and Ankita and Kimmi won the consolation prize.

Dr Sandeep Puri said: “Celebrating World Homoeopathy Day online has its own excitement. All faculty, staff and students were on one platform to celebrate the day in spite of being at their home.”

“Homoeopathy is one of the most popular medical systems in India, in fact a close second among the AYUSH. The Central Council for Research in Homoeopathy (CCRH), Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India, is striving to promote research that eventually translates into improved public healthcare in the country and wider acceptability of homoeopathy globally,” he said.
