Yoshita Mathur defeated Rusva Mistry 30-8 to march ahead in the women’s singles event at the All India Civil Services Badminton Tournament, which is being held by the

UT Sports Department under the aegis of the Central

Civil Secretariat Cultural & Sports Board, Department of Personnel & Training, Government of India.

Pinky Karki of RSB Shillong ousted Bhavya Rishi 30-14, while Akansha Kumari defeated Gauri Khare 30-20. Shenan Christian also moved into the next round by defeating Deepthi Deokar 30-1 and Manju Chahal outplayed Betty Dourado 30-8. Najma Khan of RSB Chandigarh outplayed Vibha Kumar 30-25 and Kirti Chaturvedi defeated Harshita Agrawal 30-28.

In the women’s doubles event, Manju and Najma Khan got the better of Chhavi Thakur and Sanghamitra Saikia 30-27. Gitanjali and Namrath outplayed Betty Dourado and Sania 30-21, while Harshita Agarwal and Juhi Dewangan slammed Nikita Domba and Swati Avndhekar 30-10. The pair of Nikita and Shenan Christian defeated Garima Yadav and Preeti Singh 30-12, while Pinki Karki and Vibha Kumar ousted Ritu and Shivani 30-1.

Kirti Chaturvedi and Yoshita Mathur defeated Anksha Kumar and Manpreet 30-11, while the team of Chimran Kalit and Mayuri Yadav proved too good for Agma Anto and Shikha Gautam 30-20. Daksha Gautam and Lalita Dhaiya defeated Damanpreet Kaur and Jyoti Rawat 30-17.

Meanwhile, the local pair of Rajpal Singh and Pankaj Gupta stormed into the men’s doubles quarterfinals by defeating Rajeev Sharma and Sunil Yadav 30-27.
