He was found unconscious today and rushed to the Government Multi-Specialty Hospital (GMSH), Sector 16, by his friends. The doctors declared him dead on arrival.

The police were informed about the incident. “The victim’s friend, a second-year student of the University Institute of Hotel and Tourism Management, who resides in the hostel, is being questioned,” said a police officer.

Sources said cigarette butts and beer bottles were found in the hostel room. The victim frequently visited his friend and stayed overnight in the hostel. However, no entry was made in the guest register. It is mandatory for hostel residents to inform the authorities about visitors.
