Youth found hanging, 1 booked for abetment to suicide

A youth was found hanging in a room at Jawaharpur village under suspicious circumstances here today.
The deceased has been identified as Arshdeep Singh, alias Goldie, a resident of Morthikri village. The family of the deceased alleged that Arshdeep was murdered.
Mandeep Singh, elder brother of the deceased, said his younger brother had gone to Haryana to attend a wedding. He said some youths had beaten him up under the influence of alcohol. Later, his brother went missing.
Dera Bassi police station in-charge Satinder Singh said the body of the youth was found hanging at a room in Jawaharpur.
A case has been registered against Binder, a resident of Thaska village, Shahbad, for abetment to suicide. The police reportedly suspected that the deceased was strangled. The body has been kept in the mortuary of the Civil Hospital for a post-mortem. Based on the report, a further will be taken.
