Youth held for girl’s suicide at private university at Mullana in Ambala
Ambala, June 12
The Ambala police have arrested a youth in connection with the death of a 21-year-old girl, who allegedly committed suicide at a private university at Mullana in Ambala. The suspect has been identified as Hari Om, a resident of Rajasthan. He is a student of radiology in the same university, while the deceased girl was a second-year nursing student.
The girl jumped from the third floor of the college building of the university on Friday and succumbed to her injuries on Saturday. Hari Om was arrested on a charge of abetment to suicide. The SHO of the Mullana police station, Subhash Singh, said, “The suspect has been arrested and he was produced before a court, which sent him to judicial custody. He was forcing the girl to have friendship with him, while the girl was constantly refusing. The boy had also gone to meet the girl in her class, but the teacher had objected. The matter had also reached the girl’s home.”
A case was registered under Section 306 of the IPC at the Mullana police station on a complaint of her father.
