Youth held for vehicle thefts in Chandigarh


Chandigarh, July 9

A 23-year-old youth has been arrested by the local police for vehicle thefts. Six stolen two-wheelers have been recovered from him.

According to the police, Shivu Ahmad, a resident of Phase I, Mohali, had reported that his scooter was stolen from the parking lot of the Sector 42 lake. A case was registered in this regard at the Sector 36 police station.

The police said the suspect, Sukhwinder Singh, a resident of Moga, was arrested from the Sector 35/36 chowk while riding the stolen Activa.

The police said his interrogation led to the recovery of a motorcycle, which was stolen from Sector 35 earlier this year. The police said his disclosure led to the recovery of four more two-wheelers, which were stolen from Mohali.

The police said the suspect worked as a helper at a spare parts shop in Mohali.
