MY Bharat, an autonomous body under the Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, has invited young volunteers from across the country to enrol as Civil Defence volunteers.

This nationwide call is part of concerted efforts to empower young citizens to take up vital roles in national cause, particularly during emergencies and crisis. Isha Gupta, District Youth Officer, NYK, said the initiative was aimed to build a well-trained, responsive and resilient volunteer force that can compliment civil administration in times of natural disasters, accidents, public emergencies and other unforeseen situations.

The Civil Defence volunteers play a critical role in this regard by supporting local authorities through a wide range of services. These include rescue and evacuation operations, first aid and emergency care, traffic management, crowd control, public safety and assisting in disaster response and rehabilitation efforts. The registration process is simple and accessible through the official MY Bharat portal mybharat.gov.in. It is a call for Youth to come forward and mobilise all interested youth and public for the national cause.
